In response to the complex logistics and distribution challenges faced by Mexico's healthcare sector, Maypo, the country's third-largest logistics firm, sought a digital transformation. Tasked with distributing medical supplies across over 900 hospitals for the second-largest government health network, Maypo needed a robust, scalable solution to streamline its operations and ensure timely delivery of critical healthcare supplies.

Challenge

The principal challenge was integrating a vast array of data sources, including renowned platforms like SAP, into a cohesive system that could handle the logistics of delivering millions of medicines. Maypo's operations demanded real-time order processing, inventory validation, and comprehensive traceability for each item distributed, ensuring accuracy and reliability in a sector where delays can have serious consequences.

Solution

To tackle these challenges, we devised a state-of-the-art cloud-based platform utilizing a microservices architecture. This system was designed to seamlessly connect with Maypo's existing databases via REST APIs, orchestrating complex logistics processes from order intake to inventory validation. The platform featured a suite of applications tailored for various supply chain roles, enhancing traceability and accountability of the medical supplies. By leveraging robust technologies like Java, Elasticsearch, Spring Boot, and employing Google Cloud for scalability, we provided Maypo with a flexible, secure solution adaptable to the evolving needs of healthcare logistics.
